O’level Subject Combinations

Candidates who wish to study Psychology via UTME must have credit

passes in five subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at

2 sittings in GCE/NECO/WAEC or its equivalent. Subjects must include:

English Language, Mathematics, Biology and other Social Sciences or

Science subjects. Credit passes must be obtained at not more than two

(2) sittings.



JAMB UTME Subject Combination



Candidates applying via UTME will write the following subjects in JAMB.



English Language and any other 3 subjects from Social Sciences and/or Sciences.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark



Generally, for any candidate to be admitted into a Nigerian university

for any course at all, he or she must score 200 and above in jamb. In

order to be eligible for admission to the Department of Psychology,

one must have 200 or above. Different schools set differing cut off

marks for their Post UTME screening exercise. You should make

enquiries about the cut off marks for your school of choice



Candidates seeking admission via direct entry resume into the second

year. Below are the admission requirements:Candidate must have at

least a pass in advanced level GCE or its equivalent in any two (2) of

the following subjects: Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry,

Economics, Business, Management, Geography, History and English

Literature

Two ‘A’ Level passes in Science and Social Science.

Psychologists that work in health services sector can provide mental

health care and services in clinics, hospitals, schools, or in the

private sector. Psychologists can also work in corporate

organizations, industry, business, nonprofit organizations, or in

ministries of government. Here, they will be able to apply their

knowledge of Psychology in providing training, conducting research and

designing organizational systems. The understanding of the human mind

Educational psychologist: Educational psychologists are concerned with

Social Psychology: Social Psychologists study the effect of society
